Do you know that scene in Beauty in the Beast where Belle sings “Provincial Life.” This is my life and I am comfortable with it. Now it would be better if it was in an exuberant coastal town of France or maybe the island life of Galveston (counting down the days to our move) but essentially the daily grind of “every day like the one before” is not so bad.
I am sane and do my best work when I am in a daily pattern. Rebecca Lyons, calls these patterns rhythms of renewal: rest, restore, connect, and create and shares that we were meant to live within them. Doing so brings us release from our anxieties and allows us to function within a more vibrant life. I have set up my Monday through Friday into some “rhythms” that allow me to be intentional about my daily grind.
